Executive Director Services

The Vendor is required to provide to serve as the executive secretary of the board.
- The duties of the Executive Secretary will include:
- Oversee office administration
• Maintain appropriate licensee records.
• Process initial licensure and renewal applications.
• Oversee and coordinate applicant and licensee communications.
• Provide technical assistance to applicants, licensees, and public.
• Maintain confidentiality of licensee files.
- Interpret, implement and administer federal and state statutes and administrative rules to ensure compliance and protect consumers.
- Provide leadership to the board to ensure continuity of operations
• Advise the board of laws, rules, issues, investigations and all other pertinent information to keep the board informed and updated.
• Provide regular written reports to the board as directed.
• Establish goals and priorities in consultation with the board.
• Coordinate and attend all scheduled board meetings and see that board directives are carried out.
• Coordinate and attend other board meetings as necessary.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to further the board’s mission.
- Oversee licensing process to ensure that licenses are issued to qualified persons.
• Approve applications for licensure and renewal
• Review, present, audit and approve continuing education courses attended by licensees
• Provide technical assistance to licensees and the public by answering questions regarding licensure laws and practice.
• Coordinate and evaluate licensing activity with other states for reciprocity purposes.
- Draft proposed changes to state statute and administrative rules, coordinate the rules promulgation process, lobby legislators, and testify before legislative committees to ensure necessary laws and rules are created, updated, and remain consistent with the education of the speech-language pathology profession and for the protection of the public.
- Oversee all fiscal activities of the board to ensure proper controls over revenues and expenditures
• Monitor collection and deposit of revenues.
• Approve vouchers for expenditures.
• Complete monthly local and state reconciliations
• Prepare for and provide support for any required financial audits.
• Draft annual budget proposal for board approval
• Maintain records and monitor budget.
• Negotiate contracts for required services according to established department procedures.
• Prepare and submit annual and other reports as requested by the board and department.
- Coordinate board investigations of complaints against licensees and unlicensed practitioners as authorized pursuant.
• Initiate complaints against licensees on behalf of analyze investigative materials and consult with legal counsel on the legal procedures.
• Present finding and recommendations to the board or law judge to ensure violations are corrected.
• Schedule informal proceedings and disciplinary hearings.
• Serve as a resource in complain proceedings by referring to pertinent statutes and administrative rules to aid the board when reviewing complaints for possible violations.
- Research, gather, analyze, and inform the board regarding the use and application of new policies and procedures, changes to industry standards, and changes to enhance the capability of the board to better serve the public.
- Maintain and enhance current board systems
• Administer and maintain the online licensure system utilized by the board.
• Maintain and update the board website.
