- Provide to assist system administration and campuses in this area, and that include a focus on the success of area recipients.
- Lead a community of practice for approximately 10-15 agency campuses that will identify faculty to lead campus efforts for the re-design of gateway courses with high rates of failure and withdrawal.
• Determining the root causes for failure and withdrawal rates, including analyzing areas of significant variability within and across campuses;
• The use of multiple placement measures and math pathways linked to major/professional outcomes to ensure students are placed into appropriate college-level courses;
• Scaling requisite supports using research-based best practices;
• Providing faculty professional development on evidence-based pedagogical strategies; and
• Embedding instructional supports, including technologically adapted supports, into gateway courses.
