The vendor is required to provide staffing agency that can provide professional hospitality personnel to serve at functions catered by city event center.
- Back of the house staff temp labor is hired through a staffing agency, and there is a core group of kitchen staff and utility staff who regularly report for service.
- There may be four or more simultaneous events, or a single event may occupy the whole building.
- Kitchen staff, utility staff and banquet chefs will work from the catering kitchen to prepare items on the work orders. These areas are accessed through a service hallway.
- Staffing requirements for large events may be as many as 10 kitchen staff. Back of the house staff may be required to start work as early as 4 am. Later functions will seldom require staffing past 1 am.
- Thoroughly screen personnel for appropriate skills and knowledge and freedom from the influence of illicit drugs, alcohol, etc.
- Guarantee that any back of the house staff provided to city event center is qualified to fill the position specified and will perform in an efficient and professional manner.
- Staffing agency is responsible for all wages, benefits, worker’s compensation and unemployment insurance, payroll taxes, and any other personnel functions.
- Staffing agency must be able to staff events on short notice with no blackout dates.
- For events involving 10 or more Back of the house staff, provide an on-site staffing agency manager to check the Back of the house staff in on the day of the event and assist in managing the event from setup through service. This may also include breaking down the event and signing out the staff.
