School Nursing Services

The Vendor is required to provide comprehensive school nursing services for our four schools with approximately 3,996 students.
- The goal is to provide quality nursing services for our students that meet state mandated services.
- Provide a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of our school district, prioritizing accessibility and quality of care.
- Objectives:
•    Intensive health services to medically complex students,
•    Urgent care to all students,
•    Health promotion and consultation to students, faculty, staff and community,
•    Mandated health assessments/screenings,
•    Per diem RN hours with available to assume responsibility for urgent health matters as defined by The Board,
•    Hours of service as per established schedule of private schools to meet student needs and to adhere to mandates (currently one school receives 3 hours weekly),
•    Enhance mental and behavioral health support services,
•    Collect and report medical data to the Board designee(s) in an appropriate and comprehensive format to monitor and improve health outcomes,
•    Maintain HIPPA compliance.
- Health Care Services: Will provide care to students for major and minor injuries, acute illness management, dispensing of medications to students, chronic illness management and field trip preparations. Will also provide nursing support for medically fragile students during bus rides, as well as nursing support during field trips to enable students to participate in off-site activities with their peers. Summer school nursing support will be provided, along with the capability to support schools during crisis events and to provide bereavement support when requested.
- Communications: Working collaboratively with the schools to provide communication and education to students and staff for best health practices. Communicate with physicians and parents to provide the best care for our students.
