-The university has implemented over 2,500 banner customizations to address agency specific requirements.
-University is engaging a consultant to address current state ERP gaps, viable future ERP options investment required to modernize, and provide a future state recommendation in alignment with the agency strategic vision.
-The following are concerns that have been identified with agency current ERP ecosystem:
•Disaster recovery capability
•Institutional knowledge loss
•Ongoing support burden for custom, on-premises implementation.
•Challenges maintaining infrastructure and application releases.
•Infrastructure lifecycle
•Gaps in keeping up with new functionality with highly custom environment.
•Ability of the ERP to be flexible enough to support the evolving and changing business
needs of the university
-System include the following:
•Develop an understanding and document the current state of student, employee, payroll, budget, and financial business processes and the supporting business applications used across the university, including any shadow/duplicate ERP applications.
•Develop an understanding and document what university peers are doing in relation to their ERP systems.
•Develop an understanding and document the business intelligence (bi) and analytics landscape.
•Develop an understanding and document the current systems architecture.
•Assess and document the utilization of banner.
•Assess and document the value of moving to managed service as an initial step vs. going from on-prem directly to a solution.
•Differentiate the costs, efforts, risks, and value propositions between moving to SaaS solutions vs. moving to another ERP.
•Assess and document the readiness for change of key stakeholders.
•Identify and document the impact of moving to the cloud.
•Assess and document key risks to the university of making a change as well as not making a change.
•Based on the information discovered and assessed in, provide an evaluation of ERP options along with a roadmap detailing recommendations for next steps.
•Provide insight into the strategies and efforts being put in place at other r1 banner institution
