The vendor is required to provide that central app platform to create a single user interface for all users may interact with the university even though the backend systems that support these roles/personas may be diversified.
- The shared services would include:
• User onboarding flow (create a user)
• User authorization and authentication
• User profile
• Notifications
• Data APIs to and from external systems
• Role or persona filtered features
• Data analytics and user interaction tracking
• Single sign on (SSO) to a university SSO provider
• Authorization tokens to be passed to third-party software providers
- The central app platform be able to support content or features from external sources:
• Mobile web content displayed within an embedded app “wrapper” – web content looks like it is displayed natively in the app
• API content – the capability to display content that is built in the app but pulling data from an external API
• Software development kit (SDK) content – code snippets from external software vendors can be added to the native app code.
