Application Services

The vendor is required to provide of application services and base services.
- Eservices is designed to accommodate a large variety of government products and services.
- Ensure on-going, consistent and reliable base services for the applications listed in table 1;
- Ensure on-going, consistent and reliable application master services for the applications listed in table 1;
- Ensure scalable and on-demand delivery of ads, if required; and
- Ensure availability of additional resources for the delivery of professional and technical services, if required.
- The province has been using eservice’s (formerly the online transactions portal) since 2015 to provide products and services via secure online pathway.
- The province uses a customized theme that includes standard elements and styles intended to be used on all government websites for eservice’s.
- Eservice’s enables the province to shift product and service delivery from traditional delivery channels to online self-service.
- Examples of some of the 118 products and services currently offered on eservice’s are:
• Digital downloads of vehicle registration renewals;
• Digital downloads of driver’s abstracts;
• Digital downloads of in-transit permits;
• Vehicle information reports;
• Digital downloads of driver’s license renewals; and
• Digital downloads of identification card renewals.
- Eservice’s is designed to maintain a cache of static pages and makes use of edge side includes (ESI) in combination with varnish cache to minimize load on the web servers.
- Current benchmarks of the province’s infrastructure result in approximately 6,000 transactions/hour.
- Eservice’s was expanded in 2022 to support digital downloads of products for authenticated users.
