The vendor is required to provide home sleep testing for patients suspected of having sleep apnea, the most common sleep disorder that if left untreated can lead to increased cardiovascular disease, stroke, excessive daytime sleepiness, metabolic disease, traffic accidents and death.
- This program is run by two respiratory therapists who triage over 4,000 referrals a year and either approve patients for a city sleep study or refer to an outside lab for either a home sleep study or in lab study.
- This decision is based on medical history, wait time/access, and individual patient needs.
- City sleep program is currently looking to acquire a new sleep study system
- The device and system are to be used for in-home sleep testing for obstructive and central sleep apnea.
- The system for this testing must also provide robust reporting that allows for accurate physician interpretations and CMS compliant ordering for treatment of these disorders if indicated.
- Requirements:
• Acquisition of a new sleep study device and operating/interpreting system.
• Type 111 sleep study device that will allow for proper evaluation, diagnostic interpterion, and coding of at home sleep studies.
• Preferably allows for epic integration.
• This system shall help gain a better understanding of our members and providers to meet their needs more efficiently and effectively.
• Needs to meet the CMS 2007 AASM requirements.
