The vendor is required to provide accessibility remediation solution for information and industry insight to ensure that all digital content, including course materials and documents, is accessible, which may support the following objectives:
• Improve the accessibility of digital content to ensure that all users can engage with materials in formats that best suit their learning needs.
• Provide real-time accessibility insights for content, helping users identify and address accessibility issues promptly.
• Offer guidance and support to users in creating accessible materials.
• Provide comprehensive reporting on accessibility issues to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with accessibility standards.
- Integrating accessibility features into our digital platforms to enhance the learning experience for all students, support faculty in creating accessible content, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Requirement
• Accessibility: the platform itself must be accessible
• Admin dashboard: tracks remediation progress and document status
• Ai-driven remediation: auto-tags elements (headings, tables, reading order) and generates alt text
• Bulk processing: supports uploading and processing large volumes of documents at once, must allow batch uploads and provide detailed remediation reports per document
• Data residency and retention: complies with institutional policies on data storage and retention
• Document conversion: converts scanned and handwritten docs to accessible formats (text, html)
• Documentation and training: user-focused ‘how to’ documentation must be available; implementation must include vendor-provided user training.
• Format flexibility: supports pdfs, word, PowerPoint, html, EPUB
• Integration: launches directly from canvas or other LMS platforms and returns remediated documents, must support integration with LMS platforms beyond canvas (e.g., blackboard, Moodle)
• Math and stem support: accurately handles math formulas and scientific content
• Performance: efficient processing of large document batches, all functionality accessible through standard web browsers.
• Quality, support and SLA: support should be available to users 24x7, reported issues should be responded to within 24 hours of receipt, must offer SLA guarantees for turnaround time and remediation accuracy
• Security and compliance: handles educational and potentially sensitive data securely, encrypts documents during upload, processing, and storage, restricts access to remediation tools and reports based on user roles, must include secure document handling protocols including encryption and access controls, must allow institutions to retain ownership of remediated content and ensure data residency compliance, must support integration with microsoft identity management for account provisioning and de-provisioning, must support single-sign-on with microsoft azure active directory.

• Training and support: Include onboarding, webinars, and on-demand training
• Usability: intuitive interface for both experts and non-experts
