The vendor is required to provide refrigerated liquid hydrogen storage system to achieve a desired performance target of zero loss during hydrogen transfer to the hydrogen storage tank and during daily hydrogen dispensing.
- The solution shall include active refrigeration to control temperature inside the liquid hydrogen storage tank to a state that will optimize the performance of the liquid refueling station.
- A new minimum 15,000-gallon liquid hydrogen tank will be supplied with an integrated heat exchanger to remove heat from the storage tank resulting in sub-cooled hydrogen.
- No modifications or retrofits will be allowed on the existing 15,000-gallon tank storage tank.
- A remote mounted refrigeration system shall be installed and connected to the storage tank capable of controlling the liquid hydrogen temperature to prevent excessive boil off and meet the stated desired performance target.
- To minimize the downtime of the station during the replacement of the storage tank, the new bulk hydrogen storage tank shall be constructed to be installed on the existing storage tank footings and mounting hardware.
- Monitoring software
• The solution must include a means of continually monitoring the temperature and pressure within the new hydrogen bulk storage tank and must be able to measure the amount of hydrogen gas that is returned to the tank from the liquid hydrogen pump.
• Integration of this software with the current station monitoring system will be required and the bidder will be responsible for the coordination for the integration with the current station monitoring software provider.
