The vendor is required to provide hardware asset management (HAM) and software asset management (SAM) to enhance the lifecycle management of IT assets across the agency information technology (IT) environment.
- Accurate inventory:
• The province will be able to see accurate and current inventory of software and hardware assets that are on the province’s enterprise environments, standalone and kiosk machines and associated entitlements.
• The province will have access to issue alerting related to entitlements and deployments of software and can accurately report on license position.
- Life cycle management:
• The commencement date, dashboards and reports will be available as tools to identify the province when an asset goes out of compliance.
• The commencement date, dashboards and reports are in place.
• Dashboards are continuously updated to support rapid response for license compliance audits.
- Comprehensive reporting and dashboards:
• The province will be able to validate it is paying the correct amount for end-user computing equipment.
• The province is able to patch, identify missing patches or otherwise remediate older software versions and may further automate these processes, as needed.
• The province will be able to access information on what software is deployed, what software is entitled to be deployed and what, if any remediation is required and is able to further automate these processes, as needed.
- Savings and license compliance:
• The information necessary to potentially reduce software spend through license reconciliation, optimization and identification of overly licensed products.
• The province will have the information necessary to potentially reclaim unused licenses and track savings over-time.
• The province will be positioned to make more effective strategic and economical purchasing decisions
• The province will have the information necessary to know what is and is not licensed.
• The commencement date, reclamation processes will be automated, where applicable, which will enable the province to reduce reliance on manual true-up procedures and lower associated costs.
- Internal capability building:
• The province’s employees will be positioned to be able to manage the HAM and SAM independently, from onboarding new software publishers to evolving management practices.
• The commencement, the province’s employees will be less reliant on manual processes.
- Multi-session azure virtual desktop (AVD) reconciliation:
• The commencement date, multi-session AVD discovery and reconciliation shall be mostly automated with accurate naming and ci relationships, enabling the province to reduce manual true-up reconciliation efforts and lower associated costs.
