The Vendor is required to provide for a technology solution to be used for in a health behavior research study (GAMMA [glucose, activity, and mood – mobile assessment]), including the customization of a participant-facing mobile application and development of associated data transfer and management tools to be hosted on agency research center for managed technology services (ARCMTS) servers (stack).
- The GAMMA research study is being conducted by (4) researchers and is projected to have (50) participants and last for approximately (6) months.
- Collect research participants’ de identified mood data via short surveys called EMAS (ecological momentary assessments) delivered within the participant-facing mobile application
- Aggregate de identified data from EMA responses and a participant’s wearable research devices (garmin fitness tracker and dexcom continuous glucose monitor [CGM]) and deliver for processing on ARCMTS-managed servers
- Receive triggers from ARCMTS-managed data processing infrastructure and deliver tailored intervention messages to the research participants via the participant-facing mobile application
- EMA data collection via participant-facing mobile application (app)
• The participant-facing app will be customized with study-specific branding and functionality, based within an existing mobile app with a history of successful use for data collection in IRB-approved human behavior and health research
• The customized app will be available for free download for iOS and Android phone users in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• The app will have a secure login process only accessible by enrolled research participants, and a participant’s data will be associated to a unique code rather than to identifying information such as a name or personal email address.
• Researchers will have access to a password-protected dashboard for study management, including creation of surveys, scheduling survey delivery, viewing participant compliance, and viewing and download of participant data.
- The app will receive triggers from the ARCMTS-managed data processing system
- The app will match the trigger to an intervention message created by the research team and deliver the message to the research participant via the participant-facing app
• Participant will receive a push notification when an intervention message is delivered
- The researcher-facing dashboard mentioned above will allow the researchers to customize the intervention messages with text and images.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
