Lecture Capture Software

The Vendor is required to provide a comprehensive lecture capture/educational recording system. 
- This system must support the recording, editing, management, and distribution of course content across multiple departments and academic units.
- Currently utilizes a lecture capture/recording platform to record and distribute academic content.
- Must Have Features
•    Record Anytime/Anywhere – Ability to record lectures with or without an internet connection. Automatically must be able to record to a computer or mobile device locally and to the cloud.
•    Built-In Editing Tools – In-platform lossless video editing functionality; no need for external software.
•    LMS Integration – Must have a proven successful history of integrating with Brightspace (D2L) for publishing, content linking, gradebook sync (if applicable), and user access.
•    Automatic Captioning – Machine-generated captions as a standard feature.
•    OS Agnostic – Fully functional on Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
•    Access Control – Ability to configure videos as public or internal-only.
•    Content Retention Rules – Automated deletion based on customizable folder- or course-level rules.
•    Browser-Based Recorder – Support for browser-only recording workflows
•    Course Copy Functionality – Master recordings can be duplicated into other course folders; edits made to the master reflect in the duplicates.
- Technical and Support Requirements
•    Single Sign-On (SSO) – SAML, Shibboleth, or equivalent
•    Admin and Instructor Role Management – Configurable roles for different levels of access based on course/folder
•    Instructor and Staff Training Resources – Instructional materials (videos and/or written) on recording and managing content
•    Large Cloud Storage Capacity – Scalable and secure storage of recorded content
•    Implementation and Technical Support – Direct-contact technical support for implementation phase and on-going support for users
•    Service Level Agreement (SLA) – Minimum 99.5% uptime
•    FERPA Compliance – A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) may be required.
•    Data Security & Privacy – Compliance with applicable laws and regulations including data encryption at rest and in transit, regular security audits, and breach notification procedures.
•    Technical Documentation & APIs – For institutional IT integration including available APIs for custom development and integration with existing systems.
