Credit Recovery System

The vendor required to provide credit recovery software program to enable all students at risk the opportunity to successfully meet middle school promotion requirements, earn a standard high school diploma, or take and pass the general equivalency diploma test.
- Coursework:
•    Coursework must include the standards, objectives, and course descriptions for the core courses included in the code directory to satisfy graduation requirements and to qualify for a public school’s diploma 
•    Courses must align at the appropriate grade level with the state standards.
•    Alignment with current state standards specific to each content area. Supplier shall provide evidence of current alignment before the beginning of each school year. 
•    Curriculum will include core academic courses required for k-12, courses, elective courses, and intensive reading (7th -12th).
•    Comprehensive diagnostic and prescriptive pre-tests for all courses will be provided. 
•    Curriculum includes interactive and effective lessons for students.
•    The scope and sequence of each course clearly outlined; previous lessons must be completed before advancement. 
•    Management system that quickly and efficiently allows teachers to run current daily individual or group progress reports for all students enrolled at site. 
•    Allowance for modification by teachers for individual students or groups of students to include but not limited to sequencing, combining components of different courses, deleting content, adding content, changing deadlines, importing questions, etc. 
•    Teacher permissions at each site to customize curriculum to meet the needs of individual students. 
•    Ability to modify creating custom courses by pulling lessons from various courses. 
•    Students can begin and complete semester courses at any time throughout the school year. 
•    Reference materials, resources, and tools available for each course must be embedded in the software provider’s URL. 
•    Rich multi-media applications as appropriate for 21st century learners, including significant multimedia components for instruction, review, practice and feedback, and must reference topics and cultures which engage contemporary teen learners and must be embedded in the software provider’s course delivery system. 
•    Do not want students to travel outside the providers' website to complete assignments. 
•    Extended practice problems available for optional use to reinforce lesson assignments and student retention of concepts. 
•    Ensure full compliance with state requirements, meaning we cannot include any books on the state’s banned or restricted lists. 
•    Classic literature selections will be provided in modern english to support student engagement while remaining compliant. 
•    Cultural connections with sensitivity to and representative of cultural and ethnic diversity. 
•    Student control of repeats, pausing, and stopping within lessons and ability to save, exit, and return to tests. 
•    Secure process for student access to teacher help if working remotely. 
•    Specific process in place for distribution of course updates from vendor. 
•    Updates and revisions should be ongoing.
•    Electronic manuals and documentation, including user online tutorials for teachers and students on program usage. 
•    Professional development for teachers will include individualized trainings at each site and districtwide general training with trainer. 
•    On-line professional development and training will also be available through webinars. 
•    Multiple language versions for english language learners.
- Assessments:
•    Timely formative (for progress monitoring) and summative assessments, including pre and post-tests for each unit. 
•    Specific feedback for students and access to lessons for review, practice, or remediation. 
•    Immediate and automatic scoring of online activities and assessments and capability to assign a mixture of automated and teacher graded writing assignments. 
•    Assessments aligned with state standards. 
•    Extensive test bank, so test questions are not repeated in a manner that comprises the fidelity of tests. 
•    Measures in place to ensure test security and integrity. 
•    Questions in test banks will represent a variety of cognitive levels and are appropriately labeled based on these levels. 
•    Diagnostic assessments for comprehensive pre-tests for courses will be prescriptive. 
•    Prescriptive diagnostic assessments provided for all state of state assessments or end of course exams. 
•    Option for comprehensive course pre-tests scores to be calculated into course final grade. 
•    Option for keeping the highest test score on retakes. 
•    Options for multiple teachers designed tests to adapt to student needs.

•    Provide descriptions of other coursework that is available through the respondent’s program.

•    The respondent’s program assessment includes item bank, item importer and test builder
•    The respondent’s program provides for student corrective feedback to include specific practice or remedial information
3. Technology
•    The respondent’s system has the option to convert to district hosting
•    The respondent’s system capable of customization of the hierarchy of access rights
•    The respondent’s system includes teacher resources such as lesson plans, unit plans, etc.
•    The respondent’s system includes technical assistance for implementation and configuration? Please describe.
•    The respondent provides onsite technical assistance during initial implementation?
