Transcription, Interpretation, and Translation Services

The Vendor is required to provide transcription, interpretation and translation services to the various divisions within the office.
- A transcript free of typographical errors, blank spaces and proper noun misspellings. If in doubt of a word or spelling, the transcriptionist shall contact the City staff responsible for the assignment to clarify. A transcript must be complete and correct when delivered to the Office.
- The completed transcript must be delivered on or before the due date provided at the time the assignment was made.
- At no charge to the Office, if required to pick up tape or CD, transcriptionist must confirm the assignment one day prior to the scheduled pick up date.
- On an as needed basis, provide transcription service after normal working hours and on weekends and holidays.
- There will be no cancellation charge to the City if: (1) the transcription assignment is canceled any time before 5:00 p.m. one day prior to the scheduled pick up of the tape or CD or (2) the transcription assignment is canceled within 24 hours after electronic upload.
- must have available at all times the equipment, facilities, and instrumentalities required to perform the services of interpreter and translator.
- Interpreters must be state Court Certified interpreters for the following fourteen languages: American Sign Language, Arabic, Armenian (East), Armenian (West), Cantonese, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese. For all other languages, interpreters must be registered with the Council and approved by the Court.
- Interpreters shall arrive on time for all scheduled appointments.
- Interpreter and translator services may be required after normal business working hours and on weekends and holidays; therefore, interpreters and translators may be required to work through a lunch period, after 5:00 p.m., and/or on weekends and holidays.
