The vendor is required to provide written translation-review services for the clearinghouse for multilingual documents (CMD), within the curriculum frameworks and instructional resources division, in accordance.
- All travel, labor, personnel, transportation, fuel, parking, equipment, equipment rental, certification, software, desktop publishing, project management, taxes, permits, licenses, insurance and/or any other overhead expenses necessary.
- Provide for each translation-review assignment from the department at least one qualified human translation reviewer for each language.
- Translation reviewers assigned to department translation projects will read and understand the english source document, will refer to any department translation glossaries (if available), and will refer to dictionaries, the department website, and other materials, as necessary, to render translations that are accurate, complete, consistent, and that employ conventions appropriate for the target language.
- Translation reviewers must research any unfamiliar terms or subject areas in order to render an accurate translation.

1. Before sending the reviewed translation(s) to the department, the contractor’s translation reviewer must complete the following tasks:
• Review for accuracy
• Review for completeness
• Review for consistency
• Review for correctness
• Verify that the translation is of high quality
• Verify that conventions are appropriate for the target language and the intended state readership
• Verify that the formatting of the translation is accessible (defined as meeting both the federal section 508 and department web content accessibility guidelines), accurate, neat, and consistent with the source document and/or any department instructions
• Ensure that the translation reviewer has followed all department guidelines and instructions, including the use of any department translation glossaries, if available, such as the latest version of the “english-Spanish glossary for educational settings” created by the department and available on the department website
2. The contractor will email the completed and reviewed translations to the department as specified in article xv.
• Translation reviewer will provide translation reviews in word using the track changes format.
• Track changes comments will include succinct indications of why particular changes are recommended
• Translation reviewer will provide recommended edits/corrections or a solution for criticisms cited.
• The contractor must take necessary steps to ensure that the translations are of high quality and that

• The contractor will use the assignment forms, when sending completed translations to the department.
• The assignment is not deemed as complete without the completed assignment form, and it may be sent to department as a pdf file.
• Provide the contractor with a hard copy of the source document and/or translation, the department will work with the contractor on an alternative method to the track changes feature in microsoft word.
• The department will send the reviewed translations with recommended edits/corrections to the translation contractor (a separate contractor), who will consider the review comments and finalize the translated documents for use by the department.
• The contractor is required to participate in meetings and/or conference calls with the department and the translation contractor, upon request by the department, to resolve differences regarding reviewers’ comments, at no additional cost to the department
• In the event that the department receives complaints or discrepancies regarding a translation review provided by the contractor, the department will return the reviewed translation to the contractor for review and (if needed) correction or revision.
- Revisions and updates to pre-existing translations
• At the direction of the department, the contractor will review updated and revised preexisting translations to reflect a revised source document.
• In reviewing the translations, the contractor will maintain consistency in the translation of educational terms and titles.
• Prior to delivery to the department, the contractor will ensure that all updated versions accurately reflect the new source document and that the updated translations delivered to the department have been proofed for the same elements and qualities enumerate
- Language groups
• Group A languages consist of the following languages: Arabic, Armenian eastern, Armenian western, Chinese simplified (for mandarin-speaking households), Chinese traditional (for Cantonese-speaking households), Farsi (Persian), Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi (Indian), Russian, Spanish, Tagalog (Pilipino), and Vietnamese.
• Group B languages consist of the following languages: German, Hebrew, Ilocano, Khmer (Cambodian), Lao, Mixtecan, Portuguese (Brazilian), Portuguese (continental), Samoan, Somali, Ukrainian, and Urdu.
• Group C languages consist of languages listed in the department Dataquest english learner reports that are not specified in the contract but later added to the assignment form due to an increase in enrollment of english learners speaking those languages.
