The vendor required to provide american sign language (ASL) and trilingual (English, Spanish, and ASL) interpreting services, on an as needed basis.
- Interpreting requirements
• Provided through this contract are supplemental to df230303, due to agency extensive need for ASL and trilingual services.
• Provide a minimum of 20 interpreting hours per week when school is in session.
• Provide in-person, certified ASL and trilingual interpreting services to meet the reasonable accommodation requirements of the act.
• All interpreters to be used in fulfillment of this contract, must adhere to the registry of interpreters for the deaf (rid) code of ethics, and maintain a high level of professionalism, both in attire and communication.
• Provide a substitute interpreter within 36 hours, at the scheduled hourly rate, if an assigned interpreter is unable to perform due to illness, resignation, or other factors beyond the contractor’s control.
- Scheduled ASL and trilingual interpreting services
• ASL and trilingual interpreting services will be requested for the following types of meetings or gatherings, including but not limited to:
o Interviews
o Group training
o Off campus field trips
o Performances
o Ceremonies
o Administrative services
o Other meetings as required
• ASL and trilingual interpreting may be requested at another location within 100 miles of the agency campus, as designated by the department contract monitor.
• Provide 3-10 interpreters simultaneously, as requested by the department contract monitor, or department designee. special events may include, but are not limited to:
o Family fun day (spring)
o New family orientation and registration (august)
o End of year IEP meetings (June)
o Accreditation or mid-cycle accreditation visits
- Short-notice ASL and trilingual interpreting services
• Provide short-notice ASL and trilingual interpreting services, as requested by the department contract monitor, to be provided within 24 hours of a request.
• Short-notice services will constitute services requested by the agency to be scheduled outside of the normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or if agency provides less than 24 hours’ notice.
- Emergency ASL and trilingual interpreting services
• Provide emergency ASL and trilingual interpreting services in the event of, but not limited to, a medical or police emergency.
• Provide emergency ASL and trilingual interpreting services 2 hours of a request.
• Emergency ASL and trilingual interpreting services will constitute services that require an immediate response from the contractor, to provide services within 2 hours of a request, regardless if said request is within or outside of the normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
