The Vendor is required to provide for ASL/sign interpreting services and/or real-time captioning, either/both in-person or remote, for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors.
- Sign language interpreting and captioning services are required whenever people must communicate with hearing individuals who are not fluent in American Sign Language or do not have access to spoken English.
- Services are provided by the contractor in-person, on-site at locations specified by university.
- Services may also be provided remotely, if needed and agreed upon before the assignment is confirmed.
- Services may also be needed at all residential halls
- Additional worksites may also be off-campus located at various internship, field work, service learning or other related sites in county or surrounding areas.
- The duration of these assignments may vary depending on the need of the university, from 15-30 min to semester-long assignments. In some cases, there is minimal advance notice of assignments and contractors may be asked to have interpreters or captionists on-site within 120 minutes/2 hours.
- Volume/Frequency: There are no volume or frequency purchase guarantees. ASL services and real-time captionists services will be purchased on an “as needed” basis to correspond with university needs.
