The vendor required to provide american sign language (ASL) interpreter services to the department.
- Registry of interpreters for the deaf (RID) certification is required of ASL interpreters, both the certificate of interpretation (CI) and the certificate of transliteration (CT) are required.
- Primarily provide sign language interpreting services for persons who are deaf, deaf blind, deaf disabled, hard of hearing and late-deafened.
- Provide contract manager a list of ASL interpreters as contracted to the agency for verification purposes.
- The event an onsite ASL interpreter is not available, contractor shall contact contract manager to discuss video remote interpreting (VRI).
- VRI uses an internet connection to connect interpreters to customers from remote locations.
- VRI can be on-demand or pre-scheduled.
- VRI services must be approved in writing by contract manager.
