The Vendor is required to provide for educational sign language interpreter in the schools.
- The provider may be required to perform interpretations during parent-teacher conferences, and other academic environments. The interpreter may also be required to perform these services after regular scheduled class hours.
- This service will be used for instructional interpretation for students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing, to interpret for parent-teacher conferences, and assemblies. The interpreter shall facilitate communication by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language and American Sign Language into spoken language.
- The services required under this contract shall be for one-time or on-going interpreting services. In the event Provider is unable to satisfy any terms and conditions of this contract for a single or multiple assignments, the District reserves the right to enter into an agreement with other providers who are qualified to meet its needs
- Routine hours of service shall be 8:00 A. M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. Prior approval of more than one (1) interpreter for a single assignment is required by the District before services are rendered.
- Providers will be required to fulfill requests for interpreters from multiple schools and departments in a single day. A request from a single department or school may be for more than one student and require more than one interpreter.
- Providers must confirm assignments no later than eight hours from receiving request from District personnel; confirmation shall include name, contact information and assigned school/facility for each interpreter.
