The vendor is required to provide claim management and administration services for the county’s self-insured property and casualty losses.
- Review each claim and loss report submitted by the county during the term of this contract.
- The consultant shall act as claims administrator for all claims and losses affecting the county’s self-insurance coverage, including general liability insurance, property insurance, public official’s and employment claims, boiler and machinery coverage, crime insurance, and all other coverages which fall within the county’s self-insurance program.
- The consultant shall act as claims administrator for all existing and future claims against the county having a date of loss covering the period November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026.
- Conduct an investigation of all claims made against the county pertaining to property damage and automobile liability claims including claims of bodily injury, property damage and automobile physical damage.
- Assign as necessary, those claims of general liability, professional liability and similar claims not specifically retained by the consultant, pursuant to the county’s request, for investigative and related services.
- All assignments for investigative services shall be made in a prompt and timely manner in order to preserve the rights of the county and insurance carriers.
- Report all claims to the appropriate insurance carrier and CMS as required by law, in a timely manner, and consistent with county’s contracts of insurance and applicable law, the terms of which the consultant shall be fully familiar with.
- Accept and evaluate reports on claims from any investigative or reporting firm, and/or defense counsel, and review same for purposes of establishing loss claim reserves. Establish and update claim reserves as needed.
- Maintain a file for each qualified claim or loss which shall be available for review by the county.
- Process all payments including obtaining duly executed county claim forms, releases, and authorizations for payment and transmitting final checks upon receipt from the county.
- Maintain an automated loss and information system, and provide the county with monthly reports.
- Provide additional ad hoc information, analysis, reports and services on a time and expense basis.
