The Vendor is required to provide for medical, dental, vision, and pharmacy benefit administration.
- Objectives:
• Provide cost-effective solutions that will match current and/or proposed benefit designs;
• Provide high quality service and choice to its covered employees, retirees, and their dependents through a network of providers;
• Provide timely, responsive customer service to enrollees and staff responsible for plan administration;
• Minimize disruption in networks and expand the networks where possible; and
• Achieve maximum savings for members and their dependents.
- Prescription drug benefits for active employees and non-Medicare retirees are administered by CVS/Caremark, with specialty medication needs managed via the PrudentRx program for high-cost drugs.
- Vision coverage is provided in two formats: a stand-alone elective vision plan and an embedded "core" vision benefit included with medical plans.
- Employees and retirees may opt for enhanced vision coverage under the elective plan, while those enrolled in a BlueChoice medical plan automatically receive core vision benefits.
- All active employees may enroll in any of the three dental plans, and retirees (under and over 65) are eligible to continue dental coverage.
