Vendor Managed Inventory Services

The Vendor is required to provide vendor managed inventory services for its regional transit service, Inc.
- Services include acquisition of vehicle and bus parts, manage the parts room and fulfilling orders as needed.
- Operate an efficient and effective on-site parts operation concurrent to the RTS maintenance department during the following timeframes.
1. 24 hours per day from 12:00 am Monday through 2:00 am Saturday
2. 5:00 am Saturday through 2:00 am Sunday
3. 5:00 am Sunday through 12:00 am Monday
4. Arrangements for modified staffing hours will be made for the following holidays:
• New year’s day
• Memorial day
• Independence day
• Labor day
• Thanksgiving day
• Christmas day
- Provide original equipment quality parts, supplies and equipment, or the equivalent, or better, are required.
- Provide a distinct area to stage and store parts, materials, and equipment subject to warranty claims and have established a tracking system to ensure the timely replacement or reimbursement of those items during the processing of warranty claims.
- On-site replacement for defective or inferior items must be guaranteed.
- The ability to make custom size hydraulic and air condition hoses in-house as needed.
1. Agency shall provide Weather head hose crimping machine and all dies.
2. Vendor is responsible for training their employees on use of machine to create hoses.
- Provide and use a computer with software that controls and reports on all facets of their operations.
- Maintain data for the following areas:
1. Real time inventory of parts
2. Status reports on items on hand and ordered
3. Detailed parts and supply cost and usage for each vehicle
4. Cost breakdowns
5. Billing information
6. Warranty information
7. Historical parts usage and cost data on fleet buses and vehicles, specific to each bus or vehicle.
8. Managing and adjusting min/max level and re-order points.
- Provide comprehensive standard reports, custom reports, and have ad hoc reporting capability at no additional cost.
