The vendor is required to provide for a website redesign and new content management system (CMS) the following specifications:
1. Accessibility and compliance
• CMS must be fully accessible and compliant with higher.
• CMS must include, or integrate with, a built-in or affiliated accessibility checker and crawler.
2. Homepage features
• Ability to display both video and still images prominently on the homepage
• Quick link buttons on the homepage to provide one-click access to key resources.
• Social media icons and links on both the top and bottom of the homepage, including:
• Facebook
• Instagram
• LinkedIn
• X and twitter
• Next-door
• YouTube
• Option to embed social media feeds directly on the homepage (vendor should confirm feasibility).
3. Navigation
• Sticky menu that remains visible as users scroll.
• Mega menu that:
• Supports multiple page levels (main pages and subpages).
• Wraps and displays properly across all device sizes.
4. News and promotion features
• Prominent area for a featured news story, with ability to show additional stories.
• Homepage should include scroll buttons or carousel for news promotions.
• Share buttons on individual news stories for social media or email.
5. Transparency reporting
• Transparency reporting icon should include an option to:
• Close and hide the element.
• Disable stickiness (i.e., not follow scrolling).
6. Analytics and tracking
• Ability for agency staff to add and remove advertising or tracking codes on the homepage and individual pages.
7. CMS and training
• CMS must allow for easy administrative access with training provided for agency staff.
• Ability to mass-assign user permissions across pages and sites.
8. Design and branding
• Support for multiple brand colors, including hover effects and other interactive color changes.
9. Emergency communication
• Include an emergency alert banner and pop-up alert capability.
• Alerts must be able to push to all subsites and be targeted to specific sites.
10. Mobile responsiveness
• Full website must be natively mobile-friendly and responsive across devices.
11. Sandbox environment
• Provide a sandbox environment to agency at or around the time of bid opening, which must remain accessible for a minimum of 45 days after bid opening.
12. Additional features
• Mass calling product (please describe functionality and integration).
• Alert notification system that can notify staff, students and parents of emergencies and reminders.
• Prefer that the vendor has the ability to send alerts via smartphone and computer via SMS, phone and email.
• Support for RSS feeds.
• Prefer the vendor include a homepage pop-up box
13. Service and support
• List your SLA for:
o Initial contact
o Average response and resolution for a normal support issue
o Average response and resolution for an emergency support issue
• Prefer to have both email and phone support.
14. Third party vendors
o Must state if the solution will be purchased and supported through a 3rd party vendor.
