The vendor is required to provide disposal services of hazardous and nonhazardous laboratory waste for the materials and tests division.
- Provide disposal services of hazardous and nonhazardous laboratory waste on an as needed basis at the agency.
- Categorizing small containers of chemicals, solvents, industrial supplies, etc.
- Repackaging and packing them into 55-gallon drums with compatible absorbent,
- Over packing leaking or damaged 55 gallon drums,
- Labeling and preparing the drums to be shipped for disposal and,
- Providing the complete paperwork, (manifests, shipping inventories, SDS, for shipment)
- Common items to be dispose include paint, (epoxy, solvent and water based), concrete curing compounds and retardants, broken thermometers, waste halogenated and no halogenated solvents bulk waste streams, and organic peroxides.
- Historically, pick up and disposal occurs four to five times per year.
- Provide service within two weeks of telephone or email request from the designated agency representative.
- Agency will email a pre-pack list with quantities and contents to the vendor prior to pick up.
- Provide all labor and materials to segregate, label, pack, load, transport and dispose of chemicals and other waste, including hazardous and non-hazardous laboratory waste.
- Inventory and review waste material and assign materials to the appropriate disposal categories.
- Package laboratory waste materials into packs, drums, or other containers as required by federal, state, and local applicable laws for transportation to a disposal facility.
