Disposal Services

The vendor is required to provide that disposal services of wastewater sludge, grit and screening from landfills, incineration sites, and reuse or recycle facilities along with any other acceptable disposal methods to utilize at the town discretion.
- The volume collected and disposed is dependent on many factors outside the control of our facility. the intent of this contract is to provide multiple methods for disposal sludge and/or grit and screenings material collected by the facility in the normal treatment of wastewater flows.
- Amherst annually produces approximately 14,500 tons of undigested, chemically treated sludge cake with a current average solids content of approximately 28%; this volume of sludge produced is normally distributed to various outlets for disposal.
- Amherst does not guarantee or limit the volume of material for disposal under this agreement.
- A transportation service or its own personnel to deliver product to the awarded bidders’ contracted location utilizing 25 cubic yard dump style, hook or similar containers.
