The Vendor is required to provide by grant research and writing service.
- Consultant shall identify grant/funding sources and opportunities after County notification is given and prepare a proposal consisting and fee for securing Grant funding.
- Consultant will be issued an executed Work Authorization and/or Purchase Order after a mutually agreed upon scope and fee is attained.
- Consultant should proceed to secure grant funding in a timely manner that is compliant with the services.
- Grant Writing Services:
• Provide grant proposal writing services associated with the completion of grant applications on behalf of the county, including the preparation of letters of intent, funding abstracts, production and submittal of applications; provide draft proposals to county staff for review and incorporate edits into final draft.
• Ensure that all required components of each proposal are included in the application submission, ensuring adherence to grant evaluation criteria and ensuring each grant package is timely and correctly prepared in accordance with the requirements and restrictions of the funding agency’s technical submission requirements.
• Work with designated county staff to edit grant applications for consistency of messaging, ensuring integration of grant requirements and succinctness, prior to county final review and submittal to funding agency.
• Organize facts, data, statistics and narrative collected and written as a part of assigned projects, developing data and/or graphics as appropriate, and make those items available to the county for future use.
• Monitor funding agency until grant award is fully executed.
• Assist with post-submission tasks such as grantor and preparation for grantor site visits and debrief calls.
- Requirements
1. Educational Background:
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals.
• Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and style.
2. Research Skills:
• Ability to conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources and understand their priorities and requirements.
• Familiarity with databases, online resources, and grant databases.
• Ability to compile data from vetted, reputable sources in order to identify service gaps and demonstrate the organization's need for funding.
3. Knowledge of Grant Writing Process:
• Understanding of the grant application process, including the ability to interpret and respond to grant guidelines.
• Experience in developing budgets for grant proposals.
4. Communication Skills:
• Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders, program managers, external funding agencies, and external partnerships to obtain letters of support for collaborative funding.
5. Attention to Detail:
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in proposals and adherence to grant guidelines.
6. Project Management:
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Experience:
• Previous experience in grant writing
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector or with government agencies
8. Networking and Relationship Building:
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with potential funding agencies and collaborators.
9. Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Familiarity with grant management software or online submission systems.
10. Adaptability:
• Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in grant requirements or organizational priorities. - Contract Period/Term: 3 years
