The vendor is required to provide comprehensive grant research, writing, and management services.
1. Grant research and tracking
• Identify and monitor grant opportunities at the federal, state, regional, and private levels that align with the city’s priorities (e.g., public safety, infrastructure, housing, community development, technology upgrades, etc.).
• Maintain a tracking system of upcoming and potential grant opportunities.
2. Grant application and proposal development
• Provide high-quality, competitive grant writing services, including narrative development, budget preparation, required documentation, and application submission.
• Collaborate with city staff to gather needed information, letters of support, and data to complete applications.
3. Post-award grant management and compliance
• Assist in post-award compliance, reporting, and grant administration, including support for project implementation and financial documentation.
• Coordinate with city departments to ensure adherence to all grant conditions.
4. Strategic planning and technical assistance
• Offer recommendations to align city projects with grant funding priorities.
• provide technical assistance and staff training to build internal grant management capacity.
5. Examples of priority funding areas and sample projects (non-exhaustive)
• The city has a wide range of priority areas that are potential candidates for grant funding, including but not limited to:
• Transportation and infrastructure: interchange improvements street widening, bridge replacements, and road safety enhancements.
• Parks and recreation: park improvements and master plans, new sports and recreational facilities, playground safety upgrades, and new skate park facilities.
• Community development and housing: affordable housing infrastructure, mobile home rehabilitation, first-time homebuyer assistance, and transitional housing support.
• Public safety: equipment and technology upgrades (e.g., automated license plate readers, command post vehicles), as well as programming to support reentry and homeless services.
• Environmental sustainability: water infrastructure improvements, technology upgrades for water and energy efficiency, and environmental mitigation projects.
• Community services and engagement: youth programming, wellness and mental health initiatives, community events, and support for local nonprofits.
• Historic and cultural facilities: restoration and improvements to historic structures and community facilities, such as museums and arts centers.
