The Vendor is required to provide security at over 30 sites through a combination of security technologies and security personnel.
- Typical duties for a contract security officer include the routine patrol of buildings and grounds, gaining compliance with building rules and policies, offering resources, welfare checks, monitoring access to restricted areas, responding to various emergency situations, including medicals, report writing, dealing with difficult or hostile people in a trauma informed way and notifying the appropriate public safety agency or security operations center (SOC), when necessary and other security related duties as required.
- Contract security officers must perform their duties in accordance with the following standards:
• Security officers must be proactive in dealing with disturbances, suspicious activity or people, threats, thefts and other incidents.
• Security officers must be fully uniformed with all equipment (in accordance with the contractual requirements).
• Security officers must have successfully completed comprehensive training in accordance with industry standards and state requirements, where applicable, in each of the following areas:
• Automated external defibrillators (AED), CPR and first aid training
• Emergency medical responder certification
• Naloxone nasal spray administration
• Blood-borne pathogen training
• Building safety procedures/post orders/emergency procedures
• Policies and procedures
• Overview of county account
• Citizen arrest powers laws
• Crowd control procedures
• Customer service
• De-escalation training (adults and youth)
• Diversity training
• Knowledge of effective two-way radio operations (county specific)
• Knowledge of state private security laws
• State statutes applicable to the field
• Respectful workplace (including sexual harassment) training
• Defensive tactics (classroom and practical)
• PPE as set forth by county and/or CDC guidelines
• Safe spaces – human trafficking/domestic violence trauma informed response
• Report writing via approved county software
• Weapons screening/court order.
