The vendor is required to provide that medical case management (MCM) service provider should demonstrate the ability to incorporate workers’ compensation best practices in MCM.
- Ability to utilize industry standards and best practices, along with nationally accepted medical criteria for telephonic and field case management services.
- Best practices shall include the ability to provide the following:
• Customize MCM workflows to requirements of the city.
• Assign experienced MCM, preferably with public sector/safety personnel experience.
• MCM to work hand in hand with treating physicians to facilitate medical treatment and safe return to work for city of long beach injured workers.
• Authorize medical treatment based on city of long beach medical treatment guidelines.
• Channel to preferred providers within the city medical provider network (MPN).
• Channel preferred ancillary, transportation, and language services.
• Submit account updates, reports, and invoices at agreed upon intervals.
• Utilize a secure network to transmit updates, medical records, reports, invoices, and all related case records to the city.
• Submit cost savings reports with all closed cases.
• Submit monthly reports outlining all open and closed cases with length of time open to date and associated costs.
