The vendor is required to provide that artificial intelligence (ai) tool for k-12 education instructional and administrative needs by enhancing educational resources, providing personalized student support, and optimizing teacher workflows.
-Prioritize student data privacy, ease of use, and adaptability, and contain key features designed to ensure safety, accessibility, and scalability.
-The "walled garden" environment that will be a secure digital space for students and staff, blocking unsafe content while integrating robust data privacy protections.
-The district serves twenty-three school sites and approximately 15,000 students across the areas of vail, and corona de. the schools consist of nine (9) elementary schools, two (2) k-8 schools, one (1) k-12 school, three (3) middle schools, one (1) digital/blended learning center, five (5) high schools and two (2) preschools.
-The tool should meet the following goals to effectively support both teachers and students:
•Data privacy & safety: ensure a secure "walled garden" environment that prioritizes student data protection, blocks unsafe content, and includes comprehensive logging and monitoring features.
•Ease of use & accessibility. provide an intuitive user interface with a prompt library, making it user-friendly for all staff, regardless of tech proficiency. include accessibility features such as text-to-speech and speech-to-text to support diverse learning needs
•Integration & exportability. seamlessly integrate with district platforms like schoology (preferred) allowing easy sharing and exporting of materials to tools like google forms and google docs.
•Teacher tools & support. provide instructors with access to tools such as:
oContent creation: enable teachers to generate resources such as multiple-choice questions, act-style writing prompts, grammar error samples, etc.
oLesson planning assistance: suggest engaging activities and resources based on specific standards.
oAutomation & reporting: provide automated grading, feedback, and analytics to improve instructional outcomes
oStudent work analysis: allow teachers to upload student work for feedback and automated grading based on customizable rubrics.
•Student learning support. provide students with access to tools such as:
oPersonalized tutoring: offer ai-driven, personalized tutoring through structured, teacher-directed activities.
oProgress monitoring: track students' interactions and flag content for review as needed.
oLogins & user access: support individual student logins to maintain privacy and personalize the learning experience.
•Scalability & control. allow administrators to adjust feature access by grade level, school, or class, and enable scaling of ai capabilities across assignment types and student performance levels.
•Training & curriculum integration. provide on-demand training options, including webinars to support effective use. integrate curriculum standards and allow upload of district resources for use in lesson planning.
•Special education support. ensure accessibility features like text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and visuals to support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring equitable access to ai resources
