The Vendor is required to provide redesign and update of wayfinding to help visitors navigate the downtown, whether by foot, vehicle, bicycle, or other means.
- The current signage is outdated and designed in a way that makes it challenging to maintain.
- There will be separate procurement opportunities for the resulting signage fabrication and installation, and for concrete work.
- The downtown wayfinding to be representative of the community and distinct visually, but in a way that is cohesive with signage elsewhere in the city.
- Review of existing signage with regard to placement, efficacy/clarity, aesthetic/design, materials/structure, etc. and assessment of strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
- A process for engaging the community – both businesses and residents – and compiling their views on branding and style, with the outcome goal to translate that into a physical identity for downtown signage.
- Explanation of tools or methods to be used should be included in the proposal, along with a communication plan for stakeholders.
- Preparation of a summary report featuring stylized option(s) for a symbol, trademark, slogan, color scheme, brand, and so forth that can represent downtown in promotions, advertising and physical signage/wayfinding.
- The report should also include mock-ups of recommendations that can be used to secure quotes for fabrication and installation of physical signage/wayfinding structures.
- A final report which summarizes the conclusions of the public process and specifies details for a style guide/reference manual, including elements such as structural drawings with dimensions/measurements, materials, maintenance plan, placement map.
