The Vendor is required to provide a full range of professional exhibit design, fabrication, and other specialty services to design, fabricate and install the signage, exhibits, and all other components required to create a cohesive experience.
- Perform the work indicated as follows:
• Design of signage, exhibits, and all related components.
• Fabrication of signage, exhibits, and all related components.
• Installation of signage, exhibits, and all related components.
• Exhibit and signage design fabrication and installation documents, including but not limited to technical specifications, shop drawings, and instructions.
• Website content development, including graphic, digital, and video production.
- Develop website content dedicated to the Discovery Center visitor experience. Website content shall include exhibit overviews, a virtual tour of the Process Facility, news and events, scheduling resources, and links to learning materials.
- Creativity: Provide memorable experiences with creative themes and imaginative spaces, which integrate well with one another. Incorporate the innovative concept of the closed distribution and treatment cycle in how it relates to finite water resource management for long-term resilience and reliability.
- Learning Value: All exhibits and signage shall entertain visitors while providing intellectual and social value.
- Access: Maximize accessible components for visitors with disabilities.
- Materials: Provide sustainably sourced, easily replaceable, durable materials (industrial grade) to provide a minimum of 15 years of use without need for extensive maintenance, repair, and replacement.
- Exhibit structures: Fabricate exhibit components including, but not limited to, cabinetry, displays, panels, platforms, vitrines, and all other elements which constitute the structural elements of the space.
- All components must be easily serviced and repaired (particularly for easy access to lighting and audio/video equipment).
- Components shall be provided so that disassembly and replacement may be performed using tools and equipment available from a standard hardware supplier, such as Grainger Industrial Supply, HD Supply, or similar.
- Graphics: Review all City-furnished material for preparation of final placement of text and graphics, adjustments to graphic layouts, and conversion of digital files for specified imaging system output. Following review, Vendor shall refine, re-format, and upgrade City-furnished material as necessary to provide museum-quality deliverables.
- Displays: Review all City-furnished material for preparation of final placement of displays and objects.
- Internal components: design, fabricate, assemble, and install into exhibit structures, and thoroughly test.
- Graphic production: Includes, but is not limited to, digital images, screen printing, label copy plaques, frisketed and spraypainted shapes, vinyl graphics, photo-etched or sandblasted images, porcelain enamel panels, fiberglass-embedded panels, and cut-out graphic images of letters. All City-furnished materials shall be returned to the City unaltered and undamaged.
- Provide digital photos, historical imagery, and objects for consideration in exhibits, as well as any water treatment-specific images.
- Provide additional image research and collection, as needed, to meet the needs of final exhibit design.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
