The Vendor is required to provide for design and planning services to develop a comprehensive wayfinding signage program.
- Aims to enhance navigational clarity, improve the visitor experience, support local economic development, and reinforce the County’s newly developed brand identity.
- County has a diversified economy anchored in tourism, manufacturing, trade, services, and agricultural sectors.
- Manufacturing activity centers on natural resources, textiles, and various industrial, commercial, and residential goods.
- The Proposer shall perform and carry out in a satisfactory and professional manner, the following:
• Develop a coordinated signage system for county that reflects the county’s updated brand identity.
• Improve directional guidance for visitors and residents across key transportation corridors, tourism assets, downtowns, parks, public buildings, rural attractions, and river mile markers.
• Support local economic development goals by highlighting commercial centers, recreational areas, and points of interest.
- Project Initiation & Review
• Conduct a kickoff meeting with county staff and key stakeholders.
• Review the existing regional wayfinding plan previously developed for county vista, and county.
• Assess relevant plans, branding guidelines, tourism materials, and transportation infrastructure.
- Inventory & Analysis
• Perform an inventory of existing signage throughout county, excluding signage already updated in county vista unless gaps or inconsistencies are identified.
• Identify gaps, redundancies, or inconsistent elements in wayfinding.
• Map key destinations, arrival corridors, decision points, and sightlines.
- Design Development
• Create a signage family that reflects the county’s new branding, including logos, color palette, typography, and other visual elements.
• Develop design mockups for gateway signs, vehicular directional signage, pedestrian signage, and kiosk or interpretive elements as needed.
- Implementation Plan
• Prepare phased implementation recommendations with priorities and cost estimates.
• Identify potential funding opportunities including grants, partnerships, and public-private models.
• Recommend fabrication and installation strategies, including permitting requirements and coordination with local and state agencies.
