SCADA Graphics Standardization Services

The Vendor is required to provide to standardize its SCADA graphics in order to meet international society of automation (ISA) high performance human machine interface (HMI) standards.
- Current Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) graphics are outdated and have occasionally caused confusion for operations staff due to inconsistent design and lack of clarity.
- Develop a user-friendly, ISA high performance HMI-compliant graphics framework that includes an HMI philosophy document to outline agency overarching design principles, a style guide to define visual and functional standards, and a practical guide for upgrading existing SCADA graphics while providing a template for future enhancements.
- Document feedback from operations staff on current challenges (e.g., cluttered displays, and unclear alarms) to shape the new framework.
- Core principles (e.g., operator efficiency, situational awareness, and minimal cognitive load).
- Ensure the philosophy serves as the guiding “why” behind all design decisions.
- Color palettes (e.g., neutral backgrounds, and high-contrast alerts).
- Standardized symbols, icons, and equipment representations.
- Typography (e.g., font styles, sizes, and labeling rules).
- Screen layout conventions (e.g., hierarchies for overview, detail, and diagnostic views).
- Alarm visualization and prioritization standards.
- Include a checklist for Integrators to ensure adherence to the Philosophy, Style Guide, and standard.
- Develop a reusable template within the graphics standard for creating new SCADA screens, ensuring long-term consistency and ease of maintenance.
- Graphics standard document (PDF, with editable source file), with sample screens or mockups.
- Operations staff will be available to, at minimum, provide two remote sessions (1-2 hours each) and provide Consultant with feedback to shape the framework.
