The vendor is required to provide interior and exterior signage services for include:
- Requirements
• Capable of supplying signs in a variety of quantities and colors and must be able to deliver them to any designated district location.
• All signs must meet applicable governmental regulations, including but not limited to code compliance, permits, and health, safety, fire, and environmental compliance, as well as any current federal, state, or county requirements.
• Includes the fabrication, painting, lettering, and delivery of the specified sign type to the appropriate maintenance department or district site.
• Provide contractors with a specification sheet containing the required drawings and details for any specialty signs, which are defined as signs with unique or non-standard lettering.
• Materials used shall be free from defects, smooth, and clean.
- Lettering:
• The ability to research and procure signs (including bilingual or specialty signs) for special circumstances.
• The right to add items to this bid as permanent items at a fixed price if the district determines a need to stock them in its warehouses.
- Wall-mounted panel signs:
1. Mechanical fasteners:
• Use tamper-proof, flush-mounted, stainless steel (ss) mechanical fasteners placed through predrilled holes.
2. Midpoint fasteners (for signs 14” wide or greater):
• Fasteners shall align with block coursing where applicable.
• Tolerance shall be less than or equal to 1/32".
• Panel signs must be mounted flush with the wall surface.
3. Sealant:
• Mount signs in a bed of sealant.
4. Silicone-adhesive mounting (when mounting on glass):
• Use liquid silicone adhesive, when recommended in writing by the manufacturer, to attach signs to irregular, porous, or vinyl-covered surfaces.
• Use double-sided vinyl tape, when recommended by the manufacturer, to hold the sign in place until the adhesive has fully cured.
• Where panel signs are scheduled or indicated to be mounted on glass, provide a matching plate on the opposite side of the glass to conceal mounting materials.
- School signs:
• All signs containing braille will be raised copy routed from a solid surface; glued will not be permitted.
• Corners shall have a ½-inch radius.
• Edges shall be beveled.
• Fonts shall comply with applicable building code requirements.
• Colors shall be selected by the maintenance department or the requesting district site owner from an approved color palette.
• Signs shall be modular (as related to exposed block construction).
• All room numbers shall comply with the school.
