The Vendor is required to provide part-time, contract Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professional services.
- Vendor will operate as the City’s GIS team, delivering both day-to-day operational support and strategic guidance for GIS initiatives.
- Services will include GIS staffing, system administration, spatial data management, mapping, quality assurance, and subject matter expertise in support of City departments, external partners, and public safety agencies.
- Objectives
• Serve as the City’s de facto GIS Division.
• Manage operational GIS tasks and requests from internal departments, external partners, and public safety agencies.
• Support modernization efforts and strategic initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise to align GIS operations with City goals and industry best practices.
- GIS Staffing and Role
• Assign qualified personnel (Technician, Specialist, and Administrator) to match task requirements.
• Designate a Project Manager as the primary point of contact.
• If applicable, include personnel with prior experience supporting the City or other local governments.
- Meetings and Communication
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings to review open requests, report on completed tasks, and discuss priorities.
• Attend monthly meetings (in-person meetings preferred) to support planning, infrastructure upgrades, and major projects.
• Maintain proactive communication with City staff and leadership.
- Operational, Technical, and System Support
• Fulfill GIS, data, and mapping requests for City departments, contractors, public safety partners, and public records requests.
• Perform geoprocessing, spatial analysis, geocoding, custom map creation, and ad-hoc GIS work as needed.
• Ad-hoc GIS tasks.
• Administer Esri software, licensing, geodatabases, and web services.
• Ensure system security, integrity, and performance.
- Strategic Initiative Support
• Advise on GIS design, modernization, governance, and integration with City systems.
• Provide long-term data strategy and standards guidance.
- Contract Period/Term: 3 years
