The Vendor is required to provide executive search and recruitment services for the selection of the vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion (VPDEI).
- International enrollment includes roughly 150 students from 35 countries.
- The university emphasizes experiential learning, internships, study abroad, and strong connections between academic study and community engagement.
- The search firm will provide all recruiting services to the search committee in hiring a successful candidate for the position.
- Provide all the services related to securing an appropriate candidate for the position of VP for DEI, which will include but is not limited to:
• Analyze the leadership needs of the college and create a profile for the position, with input from the search committee;
• Develop and implement recruiting strategies. Prepare recruiting materials to be supplied to appropriate journals, candidate search firms, news media and existing agency databases;
• Coordinate advertising, recruiting and screening to create a pool of viable, diverse candidates for the search committee to review;
• Manage correspondence and applications from interested candidates;
• In conjunction with the search committee, develop a method to prescreen all applicants in order to reduce the candidate pool to a group of semi-finalists;
• Review qualifications of applicants and do initial reference checking;
• Conduct extensive background checks (supervisors, peers, colleagues, supervisees, etc.) and verify credentials of semi-finalists;
• Provide feedback about references at various points in the process;
• Organize, schedule and attend confidential off-campus interviews;
• Assist the search committee to develop campus visit strategy, which will ensure effective evaluation and recruitment opportunity;
• Coordinate with members of the search committee to schedule campus interviews and assist committee to develop campus visit strategy which will ensure effective evaluation and recruitment opportunity;
• Schedule confidential on-campus interviews if/when necessary and appropriate;
• Support the committee in drafting a recommendation report to the campus President, including strengths and weaknesses for recommended candidate;
• Should a finalist(s) not be selected by the President for either position, the search firm will continue to work with the search committee to identify additional finalists.
• Handle the procedural and administrative aspects of the search, including assisting in finalizing details of the employment contract with the selected candidate;
• Provide professional notification to all candidates of decisions made.
• In the event that the appointed candidate leaves or is terminated within one calendar year from the candidate’s start date, firm shall be required to reopen the search with no additional professional fee.
