Legal Services

The Vendor is required to provide legal service agency independent review board established to strengthen community trust and engagement in law enforcement by conducting investigations into complaints against police officers and making recommendations for policy improvements.
- Legal services required will encompass advisory services, representation during hearings, and legal drafting.
- The legal services to be provided shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Legal Advice: Provide ongoing legal advice to the agency regarding policies, procedures, and operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review of Complaints: Assist the agency in reviewing and analyzing complaints filed by citizens against police officers, ensuring fairness, transparency, and adherence to due process standards.
- Provide training sessions for agency members on civil rights, police procedures, and legal issues related to oversight.
- Drafting of Reports: Assist in the preparation and drafting of agency reports and findings, ensuring they are legally sound and adhere to best practices.
- Public Engagement: Support the agency in public engagement activities, including participation in community meetings and public forums as needed.
- Litigation Support: Provide support in any legal actions incidental to agency operations, including responses to inquiries and advocacy when necessary. - Provide monthly written reports summarizing activities, progress on legal matters, and any pertinent legal updates relevant to the agency work.
- The legal service provider shall submit monthly invoices detailing services rendered, hours worked, and any reimbursable expenses, accompanied by supporting documentation.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
