The vendor is required to provide and to host an authority branded real-time information mobile application for fixed route buses.
- The mobile application shall provide a graphical representation of the current real-time locations of all fixed route vehicles operating on a map scalable by the user and shall allow the user to obtain real-time arrival estimates for bus stops in addition to scheduled arrival times for buses not yet in operation.
- The mobile application shall contain an interface for contacting authority for questions and comments, and an interface for reporting issues with the mobile application.
- Provide a mobile application that requires minimal design to meet the authority requirements.
- This is anticipated to be a “white label” version of an existing mobile application.
- The document provides guidance on the use of the authority logo, color scheme, and typography.
- This document shall be considered a guide; however, all branding is subject to comment, additional guidance, and approval by the authority director of marketing communications or his delegee.
- The vendor shall engage in a “discovery session” with the authority team to confirm an understanding of expectations, content, and branding prior to completing the initial mockup of the mobile application.
- The vendor and authority shall identify and agree to the name of the authority branded mobile application, with authority retaining the rights to the name of the authority branded version of the mobile application
- Provide a mockup of the mobile application for review and comment by authority staff.
- This mockup shall allow authority staff to review the layout, branding, and anticipated process flows of the application.
- The vendor shall support the authority marketing and communications department in developing outreach tools for communication to authority customers.
- This may include, but is not limited to, screen shots, narrative descriptions of functionality, video guides, and frequently asked questions both for distribution to customers and for use by customer service representatives.
- Provide guidance, sample materials, and references from other transit agencies that have deployed a mobile application with the vendor.
- Authority recommends on-screen guides for first time users that provide a virtual walk through of the mobile application.
- Provide information on how the proposed solution monitors and incorporates updated schedule data including any checking that may be processed for data integrity.
- The mobile application shall be configured to require minimal interaction to get basic information.
- It shall minimize the need to read and understand printed text to maximize accessibility to users with limited vision, non-English language users, and users not familiar with the mobile application.
- The real-time information mobile application and any associated website shall be available to users without charge for download from at least the apple app store and the google play store.
- It is preferred that it also be available in the Samsung app store.
- Permissions shall be optional for access to the microphone if used for digital assistants or for the phone if used for initiating a phone call to customer service.
- Users shall be provided with a graphical representation of the real-time location of all buses in service on a map that can be zoomed in or out by the user.
- The map shall allow the user to center the map based on their location (if allowed in the permissions by the user).
