The vendor is required to provide for the leadership and guidance to perform all services required pursuant to chapter 401, state statutes, "medical telecommunications and transportation" and chapter 64j-1 state administrative code, "emergency medical services".
- State licensed M.D. or D.O.
- Board certified in emergency medicine and must have a minimum of two years prior experience as an ALS EMS medical director before commencement of contract resulting from this solicitation
- Possess an ACLS certificate or equivalent as determined in rule 64j-1.022f.a.c.
- Have and maintain valid, current and unencumbered license to practice medicine issued by the state free of any disciplinary action
- demonstrate and have available for review by the department documentation of active participation in regional or statewide physician group involved in pre-hospital care
- Familiarity with design and operation of an EMS system and fire rescue first response system
- Education and experience in pre-hospital care
- Education and experience in EMS quality improvement plans
- Education and experience in adult and pediatric critical trauma care
- Knowledge of EMS dispatch and communications
- Knowledge and experience in mass casualty and disaster medicine
- Knowledge of hazardous materials response protocols
- State minimum requirements to work as the emergency room physician at an initial receiving hospital. - Highly desired qualifications:
• Experience through participation in implementing EMS long-range strategic planning
• Current and previous experience in a fire-based EMS service
• Current PEPP instructor
• Current ACLS and ATLS instructor certificate
• Current pals instructor certificate.
