- These markets will showcase local farmers, artists, and makers, adhering to the guidelines of promoting local goods while ensuring compliance with city regulations.
- Market Overview
• Regular summer-fall market
o Location: frisco plaza, rogers downtown
o Frequency: every Saturday
o Duration: beginning of May through the end of October
o Operating hours: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
o Minimum vendors: at least 30
• Wednesday night market
o Location: prairie view center at park
o Frequency: weekly from beginning of May through Wednesday of labor day week
o Operating hours: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
o Minimum vendors: at least 15
• Winter market
o Location: center
o Dates:
1. 11/8, 11/22, and 12/6-7 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (frisco plaza)
2. 1/10, 1/24, 2/7, 2/21, 3/7, and 3/21 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (prairie view center)
o Operating hours: altered/extended hours to be determined for the Christmas parade weekend.
o Minimum vendors:
3. At least 15 at frisco plaza
4. At least 10 at prairie view center
- Budget Allocation
• The City will provide a total budget of up to $55,000, which will be broken down as follows:
o $40,000 for the Regular Summer-Fall and Wednesday Night Markets
o $10,000 for the Winter Market
o $5,000 for promotion and advertising
- Market Management Responsibilities
• Market Management is responsible for ensuring that all vendors have the necessary permits and licenses required to operate at the markets.
• Management must comply with City Department directives, which include:
o Weather safety-related cancellations
o Outdoor tent weight requirements
o Restrictions on sale/distribution of goods that may cause harm or damage, or contain offensive language/images.
• Management shall ensure that all products sold at the market represent the local community, especially emphasizing handcrafted and locally grown items.
• City will book, coordinate, and pay for musicians for as many regular Summer-Fall Market Saturdays as possible from a separate budget.
- Promotion & Advertising
• Market Management is responsible for developing marketing strategies to effectively promote each market event, engaging local media, and utilizing digital platforms as necessary.
• The $5,000 allocated for promotion and advertising must be utilized to maximize vendor participation and community engagement.
• Promotional materials must align with city branding guidelines and be approved by the Department prior to distribution.
- Regular communication between Market Management and City representatives is required to maintain transparency and coordination.
