Geological Mapping Digitization Services

The Vendor is required to provide geologic data processing services (“Services”) to support the digitization and attribution of complex legacy geologic maps.
- These Services must be delivered in accordance with the states geological survey geologic map schema (“GeMS”) to ensure consistency, interoperability, and long-term data stewardship.
- responsible for manually digitizing intricate geologic line work and point features, entering detailed attribute data, and formatting the resulting geospatial data to meet all GeMS specifications.
- The work requires demonstrated expertise in geologic mapping conventions, advanced geographic information system (“GIS”) technologies, and strict adherence to federal metadata standards.
- Must reflect the bidder’s capability to deliver fully gems-compliant digital geologic maps and metadata.
- Services include:
1. Proven experience in geologic map digitization
• Demonstrated experience manually digitizing complex geologic line work and point features. 
• Must have demonstrated knowledge and use of states geological survey GeMS metadata format.
2. Expertise in geologic attribution and metadata formatting
• Skilled in applying detailed attribute information to geologic features within a structured geodatabase.
3. Proficiency with the geologic map schema (GeMS)
• In-depth understanding and successful application of the country geological survey gems format, including its metadata standards and data model.
• Require in-depth knowledge of country geological survey and country geological survey mapping standards and guidelines
4. Strong background in geologic mapping and GIS technologies
• Knowledge of geologic mapping conventions and experience using GIS tools specific to geologic data processing.
5. Capability to ensure gems compliance
• Ability to deliver geospatial data fully compliant with country geological survey gems standards to ensure data consistency, interoperability, and long-term stewardship.
