Media and Presentation Training Services

The Vendor is required to provide for media and presentation training services.
- Following services:
•    General media training
•    Advanced media training (navigating controversial topics)
•    Presentation training for City Council and other public meetings
- We’ve identified three main areas: telling better stories to the media; navigating tough media and constituent questions with grace; and framing presentations so that they resonate with the public while addressing specific questions, often from City Council.
- General media
•    To help participants see the story in their chosen topic/area. These participants would often represent a single program. 
•    The city does a basic media training, but does not routinely record and playback interviews for participants.
- Advanced media
•    To answer tough questions with grace. 
•    These participants are generally successful speaking with the media and with the public. 
•    But they have less practice with controversial issues and tough questions. 
•    We’d like them to practice the tough questions, dissecting and adjusting their answers as needed.
- Presentations
•    To shorten and clarify council meeting presentations city has terrific subject matter experts who present to city council on a range of topics. 
•    These presentations are often in the weeds – in the visuals and the words. 
•    We want to equip these SMES to back up and see the big picture, and deliver focused material that keeps attention of Council members and the general public audience.
