The vendor is required to provide from qualified vendors for design and build an analytics software system that collects, analyzes, and displays automatic vehicle location data.
- Include for service:
• The system shall evaluate and improve the transit system performance through robust management
reports.
• The system shall constantly collect and analyze automatic vehicle location (AVL) data in real-time and
archive data historically for at least 3 years.
• The system shall be able to view processed data (i.e., on-time performance, runtimes, etc.) gathered any time in the past.
• The system shall support AVL data up to every 30 seconds.
• The system shall automatically update schedules based on transit updates.
• The system shall easily view customizable on-time performance and AVL reports from anywhere,
through cloud-based format if applicable.
• The system shall monitor schedule adherence by route and stop based on late, on-time, and early
performance, including daily, weekly and monthly trends.
• The system shall provide ongoing calibration with city transit buses to continually refine the data
collected.
• The system shall provide compliance artifacts with industry-standard data security and privacy
frameworks
• The system shall comply with WCAG 2.1 aa accessibility standards
• The system shall include ample AVL data storage and processing.
• The system shall include access to administrative settings and accurately update AVL data when such
administrative settings are changed. examples of administrative settings include but are not limited to:
how many minutes early, on-time, or late; trip pattern, etc.
• the system shall allow data to be filtered by date range, day of week, time of day, range of early and
late departures by minutes and other filters.
• The system shall allow the above analytics viewed in real-time or by historical record by route, bus stop, work run and other filter/sort criteria to meet user needs.
• The system shall allow data to be exported via tabular format (e.g., csv) or via application programming interface (API) access.
• The system shall provide historical reports and charts for overall system on-time performance:
1. By route
2. By date and time range
3. By timepoint along a route
4. By motor coach operator
5. By block and run
6. By distribution of how early and how late
7. In tabular format organized by schedule of how early, on-time, and late
8. Allows adjustment of how many minutes early or late (i.e., up to 1 minute early and up to 5 minutes late)
9. With ability to view on-time performance of bus pull-outs from garage
• The system shall provide runtime analyses that:
1. Show trip-level runtimes for any route broken down by travel time and dwell time
2. Show trip-level runtimes for any operator
3. Show runtime percentile data views (0% to 100%)
4. Recommend runtime improvements by comparing actual versus scheduled runtimes by stop,
route segment (timepoint to timepoint), date range, time range, direction, and trip pattern
• The system shall provide customers with accurate and consistent real-time passenger information across multiple channels at a minimum of 95% accuracy.
• The system shall allow staff to make changes due to bus stop closures, route detours, temporary stop removals and relocations, and cancellations that customers can check using existing free mobile applications like transit app and google transit.
• The system shall allow staff to replay vehicle positions gathered at any time in the past.
