Snowplow Navigation Guidance Systems

The vendor is required to provide snowplow navigation guidance systems for requirements:
• The navigation system must not control the plow truck directly. 
• The navigation system is simply a “driver aid”. 
• The system must have a screen for the driver to check path position, as well as visual or audio warnings for path departure 
• The system must be accurate to within +-4 inches and maintain accuracy and reliability at speeds up to 35 mph and in heavy snowfall. 
• Product is a commercial off the shelf product that will take little to no customization to implement within the dot. 
• System must not send automatic updates to dot-owned equipment 
• Service personnel within 150 miles of a state dot maintenance facility.
