The Vendor is required to provide county residents who are 60 years or older with personal emergency response systems (PERS) through the office for the aging.
- There shall also be cellular and mobile GPS options.
- In the case of sudden illness, accident, fall or other emergency, the recipient can notify the emergency response center immediately by pushing a button on a pendant to secure assistance.
- PERS consists of a portable pendant or bracelet worn by the recipient and an electronic call device which is installed in the recipient’s residence and linked, via the recipient’s telephone line, to a central emergency response center (monitoring agency).
- Must have the ability to communicate with hearing impaired clients as well as the ability to serve individuals in languages which are prevalent among the county population (English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Italian, etc.).
- Must have access to translators for a diverse group of languages and must specify what languages are available for translation.
- Provide additional protections to the older population which office serves and will help avoid subjecting the recipient population to unnecessary risk.
- Provide timely notification to family members, neighbors, or emergency services in accordance with the pre-determined emergency protocol on record.
- Provided will be current models with voice to voice capability, including "sip and puff" units.
- Provide monitoring services of the PERS twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, three hundred sixty-five (365) days a year
- The call-center responder shall speak to the recipient, assess the situation, dispatch the appropriate help and stay on the line until help has arrived.
- These additional services include Remote Patient Monitoring (collect vitals, aggregate data, monitor results, update care plan) and Medication Dispensers.
