Automated Vehicle Identification System

The vendor is required to provide automated vehicle identification system project and a pre-deployment traffic study.
- Speed study requirements
•    Identify representative segment(s) of the road where we suspect speed issues.
•    Ensure instrumentation (tubes, radar, etc....) is placed legally and safely
•    Collect data over a sufficient time period (at least one week), not including any holidays, to get a reliable sample
•    Compute 85th percentile, mean, standard deviation
•    Document context: land use, pedestrian and bike activity, crash history
- System requirements
•    Automated vehicle identification system shall include advanced speed detection radar units capable of accurate vehicle speed measurement under various weather and traffic conditions. 
•    The system must integrate seamlessly with existing police department infrastructure and provide reliable performance for continuous traffic monitoring operations while ensuring full compliance with state revised statutes governing automated vehicle identification systems.
•    Required system components include:
o    High-resolution digital cameras with infrared capability for day and night operations 
o    Weather-resistant enclosures suitable for state climate conditions 
o    Precision speed measurement radar technology with proven accuracy standards 
o    Automated license plate recognition capabilities

o    Solar power options where grid power is unavailable
