1. System architecture
•    System must be delivered as software-as-a-service, hosted and maintained by the vendor or a designated cloud provider 
•    System should be accessible via standard web browser without requiring local installation (locally installed software component is acceptable if it enhances functionality or security) 
•    High availability and disaster recovery features
2. Interoperability and interfaces
•    Hl7 interface for integration with point-n-click and other services.
•    Real-time insurance eligibility verification and claims processing
•    Integration with state prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMP)
•    Electronic data interchange (EDI) feeds for:
o    Sending and receiving orders from wholesalers
o    Receiving reconciliation forms from insurance companies
•    Integration with student information system to prepopulate system with students and charge student account
3. Workflow and automation
•    Tracking of refill requests and approvals within the system
•    Real-time inventory management
•    Ability to purge records
