The vendor required to provide lidar passenger analytics solution to engage a service provider for the design, implementation, and support of a queue management solution, including off-the shelf (COTS) lidar sensors and applicable mounting hardware to provide people count data, dwell and wait-times for passenger analytics in specific locations at airport.
- Technical requirements
• The solution shall provide real-time updates on wait times and counts to ensure passengers and airport operations are getting accurate and up-to-date information.
• The solution shall be able to differentiate stationary vs passenger objects (e.g., stanchions, luggage)
• The solution shall provide reliable lidar sensors to monitor the flow of passengers and calculate accurate wait-times based on actual traffic.
• The solution shall be flexible enough to:
o Isolate and exclude key areas of the defined area (e.g., clear vs general boarding), and
o Differentiate security screening areas lanes.
• The solution shall be able to support fluctuations in passenger flow volumes (critical banks to low volume timeframes) without compromising performance.
• The solution shall support airport operations personnel with configurable thresholds and alerts when levels have been exceeded (i.e., operational insight, public safety concerns, etc.).
• The solution shall allow for API integration with airports authority systems and applications.
• The solution should be easy to update and maintain and provide remote diagnostic capabilities or simple troubleshooting tools for IT staff.
• The lidar system shall provide high-precision spatial measurements with built-in synchronization to ensure consistent accuracy across all sensors
- System requirements
• Data stored ‘at rest’ or ‘in-transit’ must be encrypted.
• Constant network connections to external hosting environments are needed (e.g., contractor hosting sites, cloud vendor sites), and sensitive information must be sent to or from those locations, ensure necessary data level or transport layer security is incorporated to protect airports authority sensitive data in transit.
• The system shall include automated calibration functionality to maintain optimal performance and minimize manual configuration efforts.
• Solution shall minimize the number of sensors and supporting infrastructure while maximizing coverage and reducing long-term maintenance costs.
- Software
• Provide the sensors’ software to capture, process, and transmit the data.
• The data shall be provided in json format.
• The data shall be provided based on the specified area or location.
• The data shall be provided in real-time through API integration.
• The data shall be able to be integrated with the authority data warehouse.
• Public facing wait-times data shall be customizable by the authority.
• The software shall be able to encrypt data.
• The software shall be able to retain data for at least 30 calendar days.
• The software shall provide historical data trends to predict future wait times and counts to assist operational leadership.
• The system shall incorporate advanced health diagnostics with real-time monitoring, alerting, and historical performance reporting.
